Note :

Model-186  Sorting Driver   when combined for use with Model – 160A ( or Model – 184 ) mainframe and user’s automatic sorting machine, can perform the automatic sorting which totally can be divided into 14 ranks. The sensitivity sorting is divided into 12 ranks (which are the same as the number of rank for the sensitivity sorting on the testing screen); Frequency response ranked at 13th , while  the other testing items, like : The impedance, distortion, ECM current etc. of the unqualified items ranked at 14th (When the indicators  of the  1st~13th rank  did not light up, it belongs to 14th rank). Model-186 is very suitable for use in the automation for the receiver, transmitter and microphone factories.

Functions and Specifications of  Type 1600 R

(1)  1 kHz sensitivity :

Test range = +50 dB Pa/V to -20 dB Pa/V. = 144 dB SPL/V to 74 dB SPL/V

(2)   Frequency response :

Sweep range can be set from any two frequencies between 100 Hz to 10 kHz, the narrower the range and the faster the speed. The interval of sampling frequency points can be set from 1/12 to 1/48 octave. The upper and lower limits of the frequency response can be set by the user. “Best fit” or “1 kHz normalization” method can be selected for the PASS/FAIL judgment of freq. response. Two response curves can be stored (in two colors) for comparison purpose. The dB value of a curve at any frequency can be read out

Test speed :

If the instrument is set to 200 ~5 kHz,1/12 octave, totally only 1.0 second is required for testing its sensitivity at 1 kHz, frequency response curve and judgment of PASS/FAIL.

Test voltage for sensitivity and response measurements can be set freely :

 4V ~ 4 mV.Accuracy: +/- 0.06 dB or +/- 0.4 mV.

(3)   Distortion at given voltage :

Distortion is measured under the constant feeding voltage which can be set from  4mV to 4 V.

(4)   Distortion at given sound level :

Distortion is measured under constant output sound level from the receiver. The level can be set from 84 dB SPL (-10 dB Pa) to 126 dB SPL (+32 dB Pa). 1600R will adjust its output voltage automatically until the specified level is reached in the distortion measurement.

(3) or (4) can be selected by the user. Frequency range is from 100 to 3150 Hz. Maximum five frequency points can be selected (0 to 5 points) for distortion measurement.

One of the following harmonic distortion can be selected: 2nd, 3rd, 2nd and 3rd,2nd to 4th, 2nd to 5th and THD. Measurable distortion range is from 0.2% to 20%. The upper limit can be set by the user for PASS/FAIL judgment.

(5)   1kHz impedance :

The AC impedance from 25 to 999 can be measured. test duration is about 0.5 second. Tolerance: +/- (0.8% + 1 dgt.).

(6)   Magnetic field test :

The combination of 1600R includes 142F, however, which can measure only relative value of 1 kHz magnetic field strength generated by a H.A.C. receiver (This means that it is only suitable for high speed test in production line). The checked PASS/FAIL result is then displayed on the screen. The setting of the lower limit depends upon the  telephone set in which the receiver will be installed. This is because the specification of magnetic strength in various national standards is refer to a H.A.C. telephone set, instead of a receiver. In order to get a reference for PASS/FAIL check, it is suggested that user may measure a telephone set using SUNLIGHT Type1700 with Type 154F (you have 4 kinds of choice : EIA RS 504Canadian、ITUT-92 or Australia Standard). Then the absolute (not relative) value can be obtained from the measurement. If it is passed with reasonable margin, then the user can take the magnetic strength of the receiver of that particular measured telephone as the reference value to set the lower limit of H.A.C. magnetic strength (relative value) of Model-160A + 142F.

(7)   Statistics :

Statistic analysis of the number and percentage of passed and failed products.

(8)   Print out :

A printer (option) can be connected to 160 to print out the test report of above items 1 to 7. (All the HP DeskJet or HP Laser Printers that are supported by DOS can all be used.)

(9)   Automatic judgment :

The upper and lower limits can be set freely for above items 1 to 6. The instrument will check PASS/FAIL automatically and the result will be displayed on screen. The set limits are stored on disk so that next time it is not necessary to set the limits again. Different limits can be set and stored in different disks for other types of receivers if required.

(10)  Automatic sorting :

According to the measured sensitivity, several groups can be established (the number of group can be set by the user). The number and percentage of the measured objects in each group can be displayed and printed out.
